The 2013 Southeast Area Friendship Rally, hosted by Kickapoo Sams, was held July 17-20 at Citizen Potawatomi RV Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Thirty-Two rigs were in attendance, and other than a brief rain shower, the weather was seasonably warm but tolerable.

This year’s theme was “Redneck Reunion,” and the Kickapoo Sams did a swell job of setting the example. From traditional redneck attire, to redneck wine glasses, centerpieces, and an original 1938 Ford owned by Gene and Ruth Hancock . . . .
A “Friendship Rally” is a smaller-scale Samboree, but just as much fun! Games were played, such as Sandbag Baseball, Horseshoes, Washer Toss, and Ladder Ball . . . .
The Oklahoma Good Sam State Director, Bettye and Edward Franz, honored us by joining in the fun . . . .
This year marks the first Friendship Rally for “Kiamichi Sams,” who is the latest chapter to join the Southeast Area Oklahoma Good Sams. Thanks to the hard work of Tommy and Luarlei Cravens, the Kiamichi Sams are expected to receive their chapter charter later this year.
The Southern Oklahoma Sams (SOS) were well represented at this year’s Rally . . . ,
As were the Texoma Sams . . . .
Food, fun, and fellowship among good friends (not necessarily in that order) is what the Friendship Rally is all about. The following pictorial reflects the Good Sam spirit of the Southeast Area chapters and their members!
On behalf of Kiamichi Sams, Southern Oklahoma Sams, Texoma Sams, Susan, and myself, I’d like to express our collective appreciation to Chuck and Mary Jo Greening and all the members of Kickapoo Sams for hosting a wonderful Friendship Rally! Jerry Magill, ASD, Southeast Area, OGS.
